Betty Jo Igou (Monks)

Betty Jo Igou (Monks) passed away peacefully in the loving care of her husband and family on August 30, 2023.

Betty Jo was born in Limon on October 30, 1932. She was the second youngest of 13 children born of Edith Monks-Duke and Roy Monks.

Betty Jo graduated from Limon High School in 1950. She married John Igou from Hugo, Colo. in 1951. She moved with her husband John to various places he was stationed with the U.S. Air Force.

They had four children, Jerry, Debbie, Dale and Kim, and ultimately were stationed to Davis Monthan AFB in Tucson, Ariz. where they made their permanent home.

She is survived by her husband John; children Kim and Dale; grandchildren Breanne, Luke (Erin), Christopher (Amy), and Delania; great grandchildren Amira and Bridgette, Mya and Lyla and Dan Igou and one great,great granddaughter Blossom. She is also survived by two sisters, Thelma and Huldah, as well as lots of extended family. She is loved and missed.
