PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO COMPLETE OUR SURVEY

The Leader is among 60 newsrooms statewide working to better understand our communities by asking residents what they want candidates to talk about as they compete for your vote. What are your top priorities?

So far, more than 4,500 Coloradans have answered the Voter Voices survey. If you want to add your thoughts, now’s your chance. Your answers will help guide our election coverage and hold candidates accountable to voter priorities. You can choose to remain anonymous. Your contact information will be used only if a reporter wants to reach you to talk about your concerns in more detail. Please do not use autofill on this survey. Why should I do this?

Because what you have to say matters. It helps us improve our coverage. It helps us understand the many perspectives and experiences in our community and statewide. It makes us accountable for listening and for responding and because if you don’t trust local news, you have a choice here to help make sure we are getting it right.

For our reporting in our rural communities, you might be interested to know that thousands of responses have been received but the majority of those answers are concentrated in the Front Range. This is an opportunity for rural residents to have their say, to be reflected in the statewide stories so that they don’t tilt to a Front Range perspective.

In addition, you can make a case that the public conversation in Colorado is dominated by the urban-rural divide and that what happens in the suburbs can be pivotal in elections and is often overlooked.

Same thing for communities of color and other communities that do not regularly see themselves -- their concerns, perspectives -- reflected in coverage. This survey is another way for us to listen.
